Our ambition at Neomat is to complete the electric vehicle battery value chain to meet the needs of the French and European markets.
Completing the battery value chain
We are positioned at both the upstream and downstream ends of the value chain, combining battery materials production and recycling of gigafactory production scraps and end-of-life lithium batteries located at the same industrial site.
Why Neomat?
The creation of two joint ventures, CAM and PCAM, in December 2024, reflects the strategic ambition of Orano and XTC New Energy to jointly develop a competitive value chain in the field of battery materials in Dunkirk (France), serving the European electric vehicle industry in the long term.
- The creation of these two joint ventures is part of a project called Neomat
- The two joint ventures are named Neomat CAM and Neomat PCAM.

For Neomat, creating value means having the ability to develop innovative,
environmentally friendly, efficient and competitive industrial techniques.
Why is our Neomat industrial project located in the heart of France's Batterie Valley?
France, within Europe, has a strong ambition to decarbonise in favour of electric mobility. With more than 95% of its electricity decarbonised, France is preparing for the industrialisation of the automotive sector of tomorrow, particularly in the Hauts-de-France region, which offers many advantages for the development of this sector.
Neomat has an integrated 50-hectare industrial platform located in the municipalities of Gravelines and Loon-Plage, near the Quai à Pondéreux Ouest (QPO) in the Grand Port Maritime de Dunkerque.

Key stages of the Neomat programme
The Neomat industrial site project in Dunkirk aims to meet the needs of the European gigafactory and automotive manufacturing market by offering solutions for a virtuous circular economy for batteries in Europe.
Our industrial project is ready to meet your needs.
