First piling for the Neomat CAM plant begins

On Monday, October 12, 2026, at our industrial site, the future Neomat CAM plant reached a major milestone with the driving of the first piling, marking the official start of foundation work and opening a new chapter in the project’s construction journey.

This symbolic moment was celebrated with a ceremony attended by representatives from Neomat, its shareholders, XTC New Energy, and Orano, as well as key partners and stakeholders, including Eiffage, the Grand Port Maritime de Dunkerque (GPMD), the engineering teams, and project staff.

In his speech, Mr. CHEN Qingdong, Deputy General Manager of XTC New Energy, highlighted the strong partnership that has driven the project forward: “In the face of challenges, XTC New Energy and Orano have always moved forward together, united by their confidence in the project’s future.”

This shared vision is taking shape, following the establishment of the partnership between the two industrial groups in 2023, the consultation and public meeting phases in 2024–2025, the granting of the building permit in the fall of 2024, the founding of Neomat in December 2024, , and the groundbreaking ceremony for the Neomat CAM plant on May 29.

None of these milestones would have been possible without the contribution, commitment, professionalism, and collaboration of all internal and external stakeholders.

Today, Neomat CAM’s priority is to continue its close collaboration with Eiffage and all project partners to deliver the facility safely, efficiently, and on schedule. “Together, we aim to build a state-of-the-art facility for the battery industry in France and Europe, supporting the growth of a sustainable and competitive battery ecosystem for the energy transition”- a vision shared by all.
